Teen faces double attempted murder charges over London school attack

Youth charged over stabbing of two boys at north-west London school

A 13-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder following stabbings at a high school in north-west London, the Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed.

The youth, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, faces two counts of attempted murder, one count of administering a noxious substance, and one count of possession of a bladed article on school premises.

The charges relate to an incident at a school at around 12.40 pm on Tuesday, 10 February 2026. A 12-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy were stabbed during the incident.

According to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), prosecutors worked with police to assess the evidence before authorising the charges. A CPS spokesperson said there was sufficient evidence to bring the case to court and that it was in the public interest to pursue criminal proceedings.

The defendant has been charged with one count of attempted murder against Child A and one count of attempted murder against Child B, both contrary to section 1(1) of the Criminal Attempts Act 1981.

He also faces a charge of unlawfully and maliciously administering a noxious substance to Child C, namely spraying insect spray into the child’s face with intent to aggrieve or annoy, contrary to section 24 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861.

In addition, he has been charged with possession of an article with a blade or a sharply pointed object, namely a knife, on school premises, contrary to section 139A(1) and (5) of the Criminal Justice Act 1988.

The CPS spokesperson said: “Our prosecutors have worked to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring this case to court and that it is in the public interest to pursue criminal proceedings.

“We have worked closely with the police as they have carried out their investigation.

“We remind all concerned that criminal proceedings against this defendant are active and that he has the right to a fair trial.

“It is vital that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”

The defendant is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 12 February 2026.

Criminal proceedings are ongoing.
