SRA intervenes into Faheem Ali’s practice at Alison law Solicitors citing concerns
The Solicitors Regulation Authority has intervened into the practice of solicitor Faheem Ali, following concerns over suspected dishonesty and regulatory breaches connected with his work at Alison Law Solicitors LLP in Sheffield.
The intervention was decided on 5 November 2025 and published on 11 November 2025. It was carried out under powers granted to the SRA by the Solicitors Act 1974.
According to the decision notice, the regulator found reason to suspect dishonesty on the part of Mr Ali in connection with his practice. The SRA stated that he had also failed to comply with multiple regulatory obligations under the SRA Principles 2019, the SRA Accounts Rules 2019, and the SRA Codes of Conduct for Firms and for Solicitors, Registered European Lawyers, Registered Foreign Lawyers and Registered Sole Practitioners.
These rules are made under sections 31 and 32 of the Solicitors Act 1974, which govern the professional conduct of solicitors in England and Wales. Under paragraph 1(1)(a)(i) of Schedule 1 to the Act, the SRA may intervene where there is reason to suspect dishonesty by a solicitor. Under paragraph 1(1)(c) of the same schedule, it may intervene where a solicitor or firm has failed to comply with its rules..
John Owen of Gordons LLP, based at 1 New Augustus Street in Bradford, has been appointed as the intervening agent. His responsibilities include securing client documents, protecting funds and ensuring that clients are informed about the next steps in their legal matters.

The SRA said the intervention was necessary to protect the interests of clients and the wider public. Interventions are protective measures rather than findings of guilt and are used where the regulator has identified serious risks to clients or breaches of its rules.
Alison Law Solicitors LLP, which operated from 437–441 London Road, Sheffield, was registered under firm ID 573279. Mr Ali, listed under SRA ID 466148, was the practising solicitor at the firm.
The regulator has not released further details of the case or the underlying circumstances of the suspected dishonesty. The SRA’s publication of the decision is intended to maintain transparency and inform affected clients of the appropriate channels for support and information.
Clients of Alison Law Solicitors LLP who wish to recover documents or funds have been advised to contact the appointed agent at Gordons LLP. Further updates on the progress of the intervention will be published in accordance with SRA procedures once the review process advances.
