Barrett Solicitors Ltd was fined after failing to provide workforce diversity data requested by the SRA
A London-based law firm has been fined by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) after failing to provide workforce diversity data requested by the regulator.
Barrett Solicitors Ltd, a recognised body based at 7 Bell Yard, London, was directed to pay a fixed financial penalty of £750 along with costs of £150 following an SRA decision issued on 22 June 2026. The outcome was published the following day.
According to the regulator, law firms must respond promptly to requests for information and provide full and accurate details when required to do so. The SRA found that Barrett Solicitors Ltd failed to submit the firm’s workforce diversity data after being asked to provide it.
The regulator said the failure amounted to a breach of paragraph 3.3(a) of the SRA Code of Conduct for Firms. The notice states that the firm did not remedy the breach despite being given notice and a reasonable opportunity to comply with the request.
The SRA reached the outcome through its own decision-making process and imposed the financial penalty together with costs. No further details about the firm’s position or any subsequent compliance measures were included in the published decision.
The published notice identifies Barrett Solicitors Ltd as a recognised body operating from 7 Bell Yard, 4th Floor, London WC2A 2JR. It records that the firm failed to submit the requested workforce diversity data and did not remedy the breach after being given notice and reasonable time to comply.
