International law firm reports record revenue, higher profits and continued global expansion
International law firm Addleshaw Goddard has reported record financial results for the year ending 30 April 2026, with revenue and distributable profit both rising by 17% as the firm extended its run of annual growth to nine consecutive years.
The firm’s total revenue increased from £551 million to £644 million, while distributable profit rose from £224 million to £262 million. Profit per equity partner reached £1.1 million, while the total number of partners grew by 8% to 479. Global headcount also increased by 9% to 3,216 employees.
Managing Partner Andrew Johnston said the firm had strengthened client relationships, increased market share and secured new clients across existing and emerging markets during the financial year. He added that every part of the business had contributed to the performance, with particularly strong results from the Financial Services and Real Estate sectors, alongside expansion in Energy & Utilities, Industrial & Advanced Manufacturing, and Technology.
The firm’s international operations also continued to expand. During the year, Addleshaw Goddard launched new offices in Warsaw and Abu Dhabi, while its Amsterdam office officially opened on 1 July through the integration of Amsterdam-based law firm Florent. The expansion takes the firm’s international network to 22 offices across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Addleshaw Goddard also continued investing in its operations, relocating its London headquarters to 41 Lothbury and moving to larger premises in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Riyadh. According to the firm, more than one-third of its workforce changed office locations during the year as part of the relocation programme.
The firm increased its annual staff bonus pool from £19 million to £22 million, representing a 16% increase. Johnston said the additional funding was intended to reward employees making the most significant contributions while supporting efforts to retain and attract talent. The firm has also continued investing in salaries for experienced associates and expanded the upper end of its partner equity ladder.
Beyond its financial performance, Addleshaw Goddard highlighted several achievements during the year. The firm was named UK Law Firm of the Year 2026 at both the British Legal Awards and the Chambers Europe Awards. It was also recognised among the Top 10 Most Innovative Law Firms in Europe by the Financial Times for the sixth consecutive year. Its proprietary generative AI platform processed more than 1.6 million prompts, while over 20,000 client matters made use of the firm’s technology platform.
Johnston said the firm remained well positioned for future growth, with continued investment in people, technology and international markets as it progresses its AG2030 strategy.
