Blackstone Chambers is a distinguished set of barristers with a pre-eminent reputation across commercial, public, regulatory, employment, and international law. The chambers comprises a diverse community of barristers, including more than 50 King’s Counsel, and is recognised for its breadth of expertise, high-quality advocacy, and global standing.
The chambers has played a key role in the development of public law and maintains deep roots in commercial law. Its barristers possess specialist expertise across civil fraud, asset recovery and injunctive relief, banking and financial services, insurance and reinsurance, conflict of laws, jurisdictional challenges, and international arbitration. Additional areas of expertise include EU and competition law, civil liberties and human rights, environmental law, media and entertainment, mediation, rule of law and international trade and development, sanctions, sport, tax, and telecommunications.
Blackstone Chambers is committed to equality of opportunity and actively participates in initiatives aimed at increasing access to and diversity at the Bar. Since December 2019, the chambers has implemented the Rare Contextual Recruitment System, which identifies and supports outstanding candidates from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Blackstone chambers has also contributed to the launch of ‘Mentoring For Underrepresented Groups: a scheme run by Commercial Barristers’ Chambers’ and serves as a founding partner and sponsor of Bridging the Bar, a charity dedicated to improving access to the bar for students from non-traditional backgrounds. In collaboration with the history charity Guy Fox and pupils at Snowsfields Primary School, Blackstone Chambers produced the children’s book History Rocks: Women in Law to mark the 100th anniversary of the Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act of 1919 and celebrate the contributions of women to the legal system.
