SRA warns public over scam emails impersonating Legalvision Law UK Ltd

Regulator warns of emails and calls impersonating a legitimate Manchester law firm.

The Solicitors Regulation Authority has issued a warning after fraudulent emails and telephone calls were sent falsely claiming to originate from Legalvision Law UK Ltd or its employees. The regulator said the communications misused the firm’s branding and details in an attempt to appear legitimate. According to the alert, the SRA was informed that between 12 December 2025 and 27 January 2026 a number of emails were circulated to members of the public and organisations purporting to be from the law firm. These messages referred to the issuing of legal proceedings and related pre-action correspondence, including letters of authority indicating that the sender was acting for a client.

The emails reportedly copied the genuine firm’s logo, branding and website details in order to give the appearance of authenticity. The communications were sent from the address adam@legalvisionplc.com, and the email signature listed the telephone numbers 01616716233 and 08002096171 as contact points while also referencing the firm’s legitimate website. The regulator was also told that the genuine firm received a telephone call from an individual claiming to work there who requested that calls relating to clients be redirected to them.

The SRA stated that any business or transactions conducted through the email address or telephone numbers linked to these communications are not connected with a firm or individual authorised or regulated by the regulator. The authority confirmed that a legitimate firm known as Legalvision Law UK Ltd, identified by SRA ID 837339, operates from offices at Colony, Jactin House, 24 Hood Street, Ancoats, Manchester.

The genuine firm uses the email domain info@legalvision.co.uk, the telephone number 0808 258 4780, and the website http://legalvision.co.uk/. The firm has informed the regulator that it has no connection with the communications described and does not employ individuals named Adam Hall or Adam Bell.

The SRA advised that when a firm’s identity has been copied or cloned, recipients should take additional steps to confirm the authenticity of any correspondence. Individuals receiving messages claiming to originate from the firm or similar communications are encouraged to verify them by contacting the law firm directly using established contact details.

The regulator also noted that the public can contact the SRA to confirm whether a solicitor or law firm is authorised and regulated, and to check practising details. Additional checks, including reviewing public records such as telephone directories or company registers, may also assist in verifying whether a communication is genuine.
