FBC Manby Bowdler acquires Jordans Solicitors in west midlands expansion

Jordans Solicitors joins Adeptio Law Group as FBC Manby Bowdler completes acquisition.

The law firm FBC Manby Bowdler has acquired Jordans Solicitors for an undisclosed sum, marking the latest expansion of the Adeptio Law Group.

The acquisition was completed on 3 March 2026 and brings Jordans Solicitors, an established practice based in the Black Country, into the Adeptio Law Group network. The firm operates with a team of around 30 people and serves clients from offices in Blackheath and Halesowen.

FBC Manby Bowdler is the founding firm of Adeptio Law Group. The group was launched in 2024 after a £30 million private equity investment from Horizon Capital, which aimed to support the development of a national legal services platform through strategic acquisitions.

Neil Lloyd, chief executive of Adeptio Law Group and FBC Manby Bowdler, said the acquisition aligns with the group’s long-term strategy of expanding through partnerships with established regional law firms.

“Our aim is to build a national legal services platform through the acquisition of high-quality regional firms and we are delighted that Jordans Solicitors has joined us on that journey,” Lloyd said.

He added that Jordans has built a strong reputation over more than three decades for delivering trusted legal services to clients across the West Midlands.

The firm specialises in several areas of law including property, wills and probate, and family law. Lloyd said the practice also has longstanding connections with the communities it serves.

“Jordans has deep roots in the communities it supports and a team that genuinely cares about its clients,” he said. “This acquisition strengthens our presence in the wider Birmingham and Black Country region and we are excited about what we can achieve together.”

The transaction also marks a leadership change for Jordans Solicitors. Following completion of the deal, managing director Michael Jordan has joined FBC Manby Bowdler as a partner.

Jordan said becoming part of FBC Manby Bowdler and Adeptio Law Group represents an important step for the firm.

“Joining FBC Manby Bowdler and the Adeptio Law Group is a really exciting next chapter for Jordans,” he said.

He noted that the firm was founded in 1991 by his father and has developed a strong connection with local communities over more than 30 years.

“My father founded this firm in 1991 and everything we have built over more than three decades has been about serving our local communities in Blackheath and Halesowen,” Jordan said.

“That legacy means everything to me and this feels like the right move at the right time.”

Jordan also said the decision was influenced by shared values between the firms and their commitment to supporting both clients and employees.

“Our shared values and genuine commitment to looking after both clients and people was clear from the beginning,” he said. “We will now have access to greater resources, broader expertise and a platform for real growth. I am looking forward to everything that lies ahead.”

As part of the transition process, Jordans Solicitors will continue operating its existing client-facing services. The firm will maintain its operations in Blackheath and Halesowen in order to provide continuity of service to clients throughout the West Midlands.

The acquisition strengthens Adeptio’s regional footprint and supports the group’s expansion strategy following its private equity backing.

FBC Manby Bowdler has already expanded its presence across several locations in recent years. In 2025 the firm opened an office in Birmingham’s Colmore Row district. It also operates offices in Knowle, Wolverhampton, Shrewsbury, Telford and Worcester.

According to the firm, revenues have grown to more than £18 million over the past year.

The addition of Jordans Solicitors is expected to further strengthen Adeptio’s presence in the West Midlands as the group continues to pursue its strategy of acquiring established regional firms.
