Established in 2012 and based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, JE Bennett Law is a specialist law firm focused on providing legal support to clients in vulnerable circumstances across the UK. The firm’s principal areas of practice include Court of Protection matters, trusts for vulnerable individuals, elderly client law, and expert witness services.

JE Bennett Law has structured its operations into three core divisions: the COP Personal Injury and Expert Witness division led by Managing Partner Jane Bennett; the COP Public and Panel Deputy division led by Senior Partner Ian Macara; and the Private Client division led by Senior Partner Richard Shearing. The firm comprises approximately 40 staff, including eight partners.

The firm also advises numerous lay deputies and local authorities, and assists in safeguarding against financial and physical abuse.

Its Expert Witness team provides services in high-value personal injury litigation and criminal injury compensation claims, acting for both claimants and defendants, including major insurers.

Additional services include the establishment and management of personal injury compensation trusts, particularly for spinally injured or otherwise vulnerable beneficiaries. The firm also advises on all aspects of elderly client law, including Powers of Attorney and professional attorneyships, as well as a comprehensive Wills and Probate service. This includes statutory will applications, discretionary and disabled trusts, and professional executor and trustee roles.
