Residential / Commercial Conveyancer

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Residential / Commercial Conveyancer to manage a varied caseload of both residential and commercial property transactions from instruction through to completion. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a high standard of client care and legal service in a fast-paced environment.

Overview:
You will handle a diverse caseload, including residential and commercial matters, and will benefit from a supportive team environment. The role will see you delivering exceptional service to clients, ensuring their best interests are represented at every stage of the transaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle all aspects of residential and commercial conveyancing transactions, including freehold, leasehold, sales, purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity, shared ownership, right-to-buy, new build transactions, lease grants, lease renewals, and acquisitions/disposals of commercial premises.
  • Manage your own caseload efficiently, using case management systems and ensuring deadlines and service standards are met.
  • Advise clients on all legal aspects of both residential and commercial property matters.
  • Carry out title checks, draft and review contracts and leases, raise and respond to enquiries, and deal with mortgage offers and lender requirements.
  • Liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders, landlords, tenants, and other solicitors to progress transactions effectively.
  • Ensure clients’ best interests are represented throughout the process.
  • Continue to develop relationships with an already established panel of agents and commercial contacts.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory and firm-wide risk management requirements, including anti-money laundering (AML) obligations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of conveyancing law and best practice in both residential and commercial sectors.
  • Deliver clear, professional advice to clients and maintain excellent levels of communication throughout each transaction.
  • Assist with team development, including mentoring junior staff where appropriate.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience handling residential conveyancing files independently, with additional exposure to commercial property transactions or willingness to learn commercial property.
  •  Strong knowledge of property law and conveyancing practice.
  • Excellent communication and client care skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Proficient in using conveyancing software and MS Office applications.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Conveyancer, Licensed Conveyancer, Solicitor, or Legal Executive (CILEX), or equivalent experience in conveyancing.
  • Experience managing both residential and some commercial property caseloads.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and achieving successful outcomes.
