Property Lawyer / Conveyancer
Our Mission
Buying a home shouldn’t be complicated, stressful, or slow. At Habito, our mission is to make homeownership easier — not just by helping people secure their mortgage, but by supporting them all the way through conveyancing.
That’s why we launched our in-house conveyancing firm, fully regulated by the CLC, to work hand in hand with our brokerage.
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Residential Conveyancer (Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer) with five years’preferred PQE to help deliver and grow this service to the highest standard.
Our focus on digital innovation and team collaboration streamlines the conveyancing process, enabling fee earners to do their best work while keeping clients and third parties fully supported throughout every transaction.
You’ll never need to source your own clients — all leads flow directly from Habito’s brokerage — freeing you to focus on high-quality legal work.
We’re a remote-first, collaborative team united by the belief that homebuying can and should be better. The role demands adaptability, strong digital skills, and the ability to stay calm and effective under pressure.
What You’ll Do
– Manage a caseload of around 60 active residential property transactions, including sales and purchases of freehold and leasehold properties.
– Handle re-mortgages, new-build developments, and Help to Buy schemes with a focus on accuracy, communication, and client care.
– Act for both lenders and individual clients with full accountability for quality and compliance.
– Work within a POD structure: two conveyancers supported by one dedicated paralegal for fee-earning work, an admin for file setup, and a post-completion clerk.
– Manage your own caseload independently while collaborating closely with your POD to meet deadlines and share expertise.
– Provide clear, constructive feedback to our digital and operations teams on how our systems can better support efficient, high-quality work.
– Commercial property experience is a plus but not essential.
– Contribute to a positive, digitally forward, client-first culture where innovation and continuous improvement are encouraged.
More About You
– Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) or Licensed Conveyancer with residential property experience.
– Organised, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple cases and systems in a remote, digital-first environment.
– Detail-oriented with strong compliance awareness.
– Client-focused communicator who can explain complex processes with empathy and clarity.
– Problem-solver who enjoys refining workflows and keeping transactions moving.
– Comfortable navigating new digital tools, familiarity with Hoowla (case management) and Slack (team communication) is a plus.
– Thrives in a team-first culture, supporting colleagues and contributing to shared success.
– Keen to learn and grow, whether through team leader progression, cross-departmental opportunities, or professional development.
