Linklaters strengthens global reach with 37 new partner elections

37 lawyers promoted to partner roles across key regions and practice areas

Linklaters has announced the election of 37 new partners across its global network, with the appointments set to take effect from 1 May 2026.

The firm confirmed that the new partner cohort spans a wide range of practice areas and jurisdictions, reflecting its continued investment in strengthening its international platform. The appointments cover key legal disciplines including antitrust and foreign investment, banking, capital markets, litigation, corporate law, and intellectual property.

The largest number of promotions were made within litigation, arbitration, and investigations, and mainstream corporate practices, each accounting for seven new partners. Other areas represented include banking, capital markets, investment funds, tax, and legal and risk functions.

Geographically, the appointments are distributed across Asia, Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The UK accounts for the largest share with 14 new partners, followed by Europe with 12, Asia with seven, and the US with four.

The firm stated that the promotions recognise lawyers who already play an important role in advising clients and supporting its global operations. The appointments are also intended to reinforce Linklaters’ ability to deliver cross-border legal services in a competitive international market.

Senior Partner Aedamar Comiskey said the new cohort represents a strong group of lawyers contributing to the firm’s continued development. She noted that the individuals promoted have already demonstrated their ability to support clients and will play a role in advancing the firm’s global strategy.

Firmwide Managing Partner Paul Lewis also acknowledged the contribution of the new partners, highlighting their role in strengthening the firm’s capabilities across multiple jurisdictions and practice areas.

The announcement comes at a time when major law firms continue to focus on expanding leadership teams to meet growing demand for complex, cross-border legal advice. Partner promotions are typically used to recognise senior talent and support long-term business growth.

The appointments form part of Linklaters’ ongoing approach to developing internal talent and maintaining its position within the global legal market.

Separately, other firms have also announced partnership promotions in recent days, reflecting a broader trend across the legal sector. For example, Fieldfisher recently promoted 12 lawyers across its European offices in its 2026 promotions round.
