Seladore Legal
Seladore Legal is a London-headquartered law firm specialising in complex cross-border litigation and international arbitration. The firm’s partners are among London’s most experienced litigators, having been involved in many of the largest commercial disputes in recent years. Established in 2020 by former Herbert Smith Freehills lawyers Simon Bushell and Gareth Keillor, the firm has grown rapidly, with all partners having trained and worked at Herbert Smith Freehills.
The firm does not undertake transactional work, which enables it to pursue claims against large financial institutions, multinational corporations, and government entities. Seladore Legal adopts a partner-led, focused approach to developing and pursuing effective solutions for clients facing the most challenging disputes. Its team has extensive experience across the English higher courts and in coordinating multijurisdictional proceedings. The firm also has wide-ranging expertise in arbitration under all major rules, including LCIA, ICC, ZCC, SCC, DIAC, SIAC, UNCITRAL, OHADA, and TAI.
The practice includes a corporate crime, internal investigations, and regulatory team led by partner Dan Hudson, complementing its established civil fraud work. The firm has significant experience in asset recovery and damages claims arising from bribery, corruption, and misappropriation. Its white-collar crime capability allows it to discreetly manage matters from the outset, providing the independence and forensic skill necessary for clients to maintain the confidence of regulators, investors, and stakeholders. The firm has recognised expertise in handling the interaction between civil and criminal processes, including engagement with investigatory and prosecuting authorities.
In 2024, the firm expanded its team and was involved in some of the most high-profile disputes before the commercial courts. That year also marked the arrival of international arbitration specialist Laurence (Larry) Shore, who joined as a partner to lead the firm’s newly opened Milan office.
Seladore Legal has acted in several prominent matters, including representing Russian businessman Ziyavudin Magomedov in his $13.8 billion UMC claim against TPG, DP World, and Russian state interests—the largest claim ever brought in the High Court of England and Wales outside the collective redress regime. The firm has also represented the President of Mozambique in claims connected to the “Tuna Bond” case and advised Kidman Asset Management (in liquidation) in recovery proceedings related to fraudulent activity by London-based financier Massimo Bochicchio.
