Gordons Partnership, established in 1993 by three lawyers from leading City practices, has grown through both organic development and mergers to become an 18-partner firm with over 60 employees, operating from offices in London (Holborn) and Guildford, Surrey. Its healthcare department, established in 2007 in Guildford, comprises 14 fee-earners, including five partners, and represents clinicians in clinical negligence claims, complaints, disciplinary proceedings, and professional misconduct allegations. The team also provides representation at coroners’ inquests and public inquiries, acting on behalf of private individuals, private healthcare providers, insurers, and a leading medical defence organisation.

The health and social care team advises providers across England and Wales, covering hospitals, community health, mental health services, GP and dental practices, care homes, homecare, supported living, and children’s homes. The team assists with operational and transactional matters including draft inspection reports, enforcement actions, safeguarding enquiries, contract disputes, employment law, and acquisitions or sales of care businesses.

In regulatory matters, the firm advises doctors, dentists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals on professional misconduct investigations, regulatory compliance, and disciplinary issues. Representation includes appearances before the MPTS, GMC, GDC, police stations, and coroners’ courts.

The firm’s commercial practice covers a broad range of contractual matters, including trading terms, e-commerce, outsourcing, franchising, licensing, consumer protection, trade regulation, procurement, and distribution contracts. Its commercial dispute resolution services include litigation support in general disputes, international trade and commodities, bankruptcy and insolvency, corporate and shareholder matters, consumer and property disputes, professional negligence claims, and enforcement of judgments.

Gordons Partnership’s commercial real estate team provides comprehensive legal services, including sales and purchases, options, commercial lending, retail and office leasing, statutory utility, and development work. The team acts for major landowners, lending banks, retailers, SMEs, and start-ups.

The corporate and finance team advises on public and private corporate law, from business incorporations to complex M&A and finance transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, management buy-outs and buy-ins, joint ventures, corporate reorganisations, and public takeovers. Its clients range from household names to owner-managed businesses and start-ups.

Employment law services cover all aspects including employee benefits, discrimination, disciplinary hearings, dismissal, TUPE matters, corporate restructuring, severance arrangements, and employment tribunal claims.

The family law and private children team provides guidance on divorce, separation, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, cohabitation arrangements, financial settlements, international relocation, and related matters.

Private client services include estate administration, wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, probate, inheritance tax, and trust planning and administration.

The residential conveyancing department in Guildford handles freehold and leasehold conveyancing, including assignment of new build contracts, for both individual clients and lenders as panel solicitors, nationally and internationally.
