John McElroy appointed LSLA president

London Solicitors Litigation Association names disputes specialist John McElroy as president amid continuing civil justice reform and digital court change

The London Solicitors Litigation Association (LSLA) has appointed John McElroy as its new president, succeeding in the role at a time of continued change across the civil justice system.

McElroy, a disputes specialist with longstanding involvement in the association, has previously served on the LSLA committee and is well known within the London litigation community.

The LSLA represents the interests of litigators in London and plays an active role in responding to consultations and engaging with policymakers, particularly on issues affecting civil procedure and court reform.

His appointment comes as the courts continue to adapt to procedural reform and increasing use of technology, with practitioners navigating changes in case management, digital processes and court capacity.

Commenting on his appointment, McElroy said: “I am honoured to take on the role of president of the LSLA and look forward to working with the committee and members over the coming year. The LSLA plays an important role in representing the views of litigators and engaging with key stakeholders across the justice system.”

He added: “At a time of significant change in the civil justice landscape, it is vital that the experience and perspectives of practitioners are reflected in ongoing reforms. I look forward to contributing to that process and supporting the continued work of the association.”

The association said it remains committed to supporting its members and contributing to the development of a civil justice system that is efficient, accessible and responsive to the needs of those who use it.
