Conditions prevent ownership, compliance roles and sole practice
The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has imposed conditions on the practising certificate of solicitor Imran Uddin following a regulatory decision made on 9 December 2025.
The decision, published on 13 February 2026, places restrictions on Mr Uddin’s professional activities for the 2025/2026 practice year.
At the time of the matters giving rise to the outcome, Mr Uddin was practising at Crescent Law Ltd in Morden, Surrey. The firm’s registered address is 81 London Road, Morden, SM4 5HP, and it holds firm ID 283287.
At the date of publication, Mr Uddin is associated with Bryan & Armstrong, based at The New Meeting House, Station Street, Mansfield, NG18 1EF, firm ID 44368.
Under the conditions imposed by the SRA, Mr Uddin is prohibited from acting as a manager or owner of any authorised body. He is also barred from holding the roles of Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP) or Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration (COFA) at any authorised firm.
In addition, Mr Uddin may not practise on his own account under Regulation 10.2(a) or (b) of the SRA Authorisation of Individuals Regulations. These provisions govern circumstances in which solicitors may operate as sole practitioners or managers of authorised bodies.
The SRA confirmed that the outcome was reached by its own decision-making process rather than through the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal.
In its published reasons, the regulator stated that the conditions were necessary in the public interest. It further noted that the restrictions are reasonable and proportionate, having regard to the purposes set out in Regulation 7 of the SRA Authorisation of Individuals Regulations.
The SRA also referenced the regulatory objectives and principles governing regulatory activities as contained in section 28 of the Legal Services Act 2007.
No further details have been published regarding the underlying circumstances that led to the imposition of the conditions.
The restrictions apply to Mr Uddin’s practising certificate for the 2025/2026 practice year and remain subject to the definitions set out in the SRA Glossary.
